Para propor sugestões ao Sistema de Proteção à Infância em casos de crianças envolvidas em processo crime por violência doméstica, foi realizado um estudo com delineamento descritivo qualitativo e realizadas entrevistas com seis (6) participantes que atuam com o Sistema de Proteção à Infância, no Brasil, sendo 01 médico psiquiatra, com experiência forense; 01 advogado de crianças e adolescentes, 01 Juiz de Direito e 03 magistrados do Ministério Público, todos em atividade na área da infância e juventude. In order to study various aspects of students? understanding of atomic orbitals, we have built a 3-D virtual environment — "Virtual Water" — to support the learning of some concepts of Physics and Chemistry at the final high school or first-year university levels. It focuses on the microscopic structure of water and explores, among others, concepts related to atomic and molecular orbitals.
To evaluate that software, we have made a qualitative study with 20 first-year students of Science and Engineering courses at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. Having been asked to describe their views about how they conceive electrons in an atom before seeing "Virtual Water", students revealed some misconceptions. We have tried, with partial success, to overcome them by making students explore our virtual environment.

Hydrodynamic forces over the beach sediments are the main driving factors affecting the frequency and magnitude of morphological changes in beach systems. Most of the time, these driving factors act in a foreseeable way and do not represent any danger either to the coastal systems or to their population. However, hydrodynamic forces are also capable of inducing high morphodynamic behaviour on the beach profiles and very often in a short period of time; this endangers people and property and leads to system retreat. The most common consequences of the occurrence of this type of phenomena over the landforms are costal inundation and erosion. Quantum mechanics is a non-intuitive subject. For example, the concept of orbital seems too difficult to be mastered by students who are starting to study it. Various investigations have been done on student's difficulties in understanding basic quantum mechanics. Nevertheless, there are few attempts at probing how student's understanding is influenced by appropriate visualization techniques, which are known to help conceptual understanding. Usually, students learn more if the method of instruction matches their
learning style. Since Physics and Chemistry deal with three-dimensional (3-D)
objects, the ability to visualize and mentally manipulate shapes is very helpful
in their learning. In fact, much of what Physics and Chemistry students
know takes the form of images. However, little attention has been given to the
pedagogical effectiveness of visual stimuli in those disciplines. Computers are
being increasingly used as teaching tools. The new approaches include simulations,
multimedia presentations and, more recently, virtual environments.
Computer-based worlds are useful to visualize physical and chemical processes
