This paper presents a project developed in an elevators company, in the framework of a
master thesis at University of Minho. The main objective of this work was to analyse the
production system of one assembly section of the company and to implement some proposals that would improve its performance. This objective was achieved by applying Lean Production tools and techniques namely, 5S, Visual Management and Standard Work. With the proposed improvements it was possible to increase the shop floor area, to reduce errors and nonconformities, to reduce the number of required operators and to improve the

No contexto do aprofundamento da temática da estocástica preconizado nos programas escolares de muitos países, entre os quais se encontra Portugal, neste trabalho estudam-se as ideias sobre equivalência estocástica de estudantes recém-ingressados na universidade no curso do 1º ciclo conducente a cursos do 2º ciclo de formação de futuros educadores e professores do ensino básico. Participaram no estudo 79 estudantes da Licenciatura em Educação Básica de uma universidade do norte de Portugal, que foram confrontados com várias situações de equivalência estocástica apresentadas na forma de questionário. O texto descreve um estudo desenvolvido no âmbito do plano de Intervenção Pedagógica Supervisionada inserido da unidade curricular Estágio Profissional, do 2º ano do Mestrado em Ensino de Informática, cujo objetivo principal foi aferir o contributo do webfólio reflexivo enquanto instrumento, quer de construção, quer de avaliação de aprendizagens de alunos do 12º ano de escolaridade do curso de Ciências e Tecnologias, de uma escola do Porto.
A escolha do Webfólio como foco da intervenção prendeu-se com o seu enquadramento na abordagem pedagógica que se pretendeu implementar: o aluno enquanto elemento central e principal responsável pelo seu processo de ensino-aprendizagem, no sentido de fomentar a sua autonomia, reflexividade e capacidade de iniciativa.

The aim of this study is to present a sensitivity analysis of geometric variables on the mechanical behavior of regular cellular solids. The cellular solids studied are named “spherical” and “elliptical”, if there is part of an empty sphere inside or if there is part of an empty revolved ellipse, respectively. Pure loads are applied separately, namely compression and shear, in order to study the influence of the variables on axial stress and axial displacement (compression) and shear stress and shear strain on shear.
