Angular particle correlations are a powerful tool to study collective effects
and in-medium jet modification as well as their interplay in the hot and dense
medium produced in central heavy-ion collisions. We present measurements of
two-particle angular correlations of inclusive charged and identified particles
performed with the ALICE detector. The near-side peak in the short-range
correlation region is quantitatively analyzed: while the rms of the peak in
$\phi$-direction is independent of centrality within uncertainties, we find a
significant broadening in $\eta$-direction from peripheral to central
collisions. The particle content of the near-side peak is studied finding that
the $p/\pi$ ratio of particles associated to a trigger particle is much smaller
than the one in the bulk of the particles and consistent with fragmentation ...
Visando compreender o misto de fenómenos sociais que se têm
vindo a complexificar na actualidade, Boaventura de Sousa Santos tece um
conjunto de considerações sobre as origens desses fenómenos. Em Pela mão
de Alice: o social e o político na pós-modernidade, faz um sobrevôo sobre
os processos de construção do projecto da modernidade e especula sobre as
razões que determinaram o seu não cumprimento. Por fim, o autor evidencia
alguns dos riscos que se correm, por exemplo, o de que o sujeito pósmoderno
se perca na materialidade da sua existência e, por isso, transmute a
cidadania em consumismo.
Essa dissertação apresenta mais uma aventura de Alice atravessando mais de um século de diálogos e figuras (e de que serve um livro sem figuras e nem diálogos, pensou Alice) com foco no surrealismo. A viagem parte do passeio de barco quando a estória de Alice foi contada pela primeira vez, chegando até as viagens da menina pela webland no mundo contemporâneo. As ilustrações de Lewis Carroll e John Tenniel apresentam a menina vitoriana, contrapondo às influências românticas e pré-rafaelitas de Carroll, à caricatura e às intertextualidades que cruzam às ilustrações de John Tenniel. Num Segundo momento a menina salta do livro de estórias infantis para o livro de imagens poéticas, viajando por um labirinto aonde encontra diversas Alices surrealistas.
